Tops Internship

Developing leaders within a unique ministry environment

Are you looking to grow in your discipleship journey and to develop in your spiritual maturity? Do you love the pace and fun that life on camp holds? Do you love to see people of all ages experience transformational moments? Are you interested in developing in your leadership and facilitation skills? Do you want to explore careers in event management, hospitality and catering, property maintenance, or outdoor education and recreation? Maybe the Tops Internship is your next step.

Live onsite with us for two years, working 3.5 paid days a week and be exposed to all sides of life on a campsite – from taking bookings to managing guest needs, serving and preparing large-scale catering, learning how to care for an expansive and diverse property, serving on up to 13 weeks of faith-based camps for kids, and learning to guide and facilitate our guests in the great outdoors.

For the remainder of each week you’ll undertake a Diploma of Christian Studies facilitated by Australian College of Ministry (ACOM) and expand your understanding and critical thinking about faith in Jesus. This also includes a two-year, spiritual formation journey with trained facilitators and a personal spiritual mentor. If you choose, you’ll also have the opportunity to complete a Cert III in Outdoor Leadership with our training team.

Each year you will also be taken on one exposure trip either nationally or internationally to visit and serve other camping ministries, so you can grasp a broader understanding of the dynamic nature of Christian Camping. Come away and discover what living life to the full can look like at one of Australia’s leading camp and conference venues. We look forward to hearing from you!

Some Feedback from Past Tops Internship Graduates:

“This isn’t just a training program to learn how to do a job. It’s an opportunity to make your faith practical, and discover how God teaches us through community, adventure, risk and saying yes. No matter where you end up after these two years, you’ll have learnt what it means to say yes to what God has for you next.”

“The internship provided me a space where I was able to discover more of who I am and who God is. I was embraced by the community of the Tops who became my intern family as I was a part of day to day camp life. Through experiences and having people believe in me over the two years of the internship, I developed my leadership skills, confidence and love for camping. So many incredible memories and two years of my life that are definitely some of the best!!”

“The internship has been two big formative years in my life. I could never have anticipated the adventure I experienced, the friendships that have been created and the personal formation journey I have gone on. It has exposed me to passionate people who love what they do, both at The Tops and in the wider Christian camping community.”
